Play Expat Cricket in Dubai: The Blighty Ducks Are Recruiting for 2026/27
Updated: Sep 9
The 2026/27 season is here and it is the busiest we have ever been. Nets are running, the socials have started, league cricket kicks off in the coming weeks and not to forget the indoor cricket has already started! If you have ever thought about playing cricket in Dubai, this is the moment.
Who we are
The Blighty Ducks are Dubai's expat cricket club. We have been playing here since 2013 and we compete in two leagues, the JA Social League and the Friendly Cricketers League, so there is plenty of cricket on offer whether you are a serious club cricketer or someone who has not picked up a bat since school.
We take the cricket seriously and the social side just as seriously. Match days finish at the bar, the WhatsApp group never sleeps, and the Ducks Golf Society is arguably more competitive than the cricket.
What's on this season
Nets: Regular sessions through the season. Times go out on the WhatsApp group.
League cricket: Fixtures from September to April across two leagues.
Indoor cricket: Fast, six-a-side, no sunburn.
Socials: Already underway. Quiz nights, end of season dinner and everything in between.
Who we're looking for
Just landed in Dubai and want a ready-made group of mates? Come and play.
Played at a decent level back home and want proper league cricket? We need you.
Rusty, out of practice, mainly here for the drink after? Also welcome.
Not a cricketer at all but keen on the golf and the socials? There is room for you too.
No trials, no fuss. Come along to a nets session and see if it feels like your kind of club.
How to get involved
Send us a message on Instagram at @blightyducks or email blightyducks@gmail.com. We will get you into the WhatsApp group, tell you when the next nets is and get you sorted for a game. Up the Ducks!
